The Cloverdale Arts Alliance is pleased to bring you the Latin band, ¡Lo Cura! to Friday Night Live, on August 10. During these times when the world seems to be moving too fast to comprehend, often what we need is a musical cure! ¡Lo Cura! is just the ticket. Bringing together the musical flavors of Spain, Cuba and California, this quartet draws on Latin influences from flamenco, Afro-Cuban, samba, Afro-Peruvian and cumbia. Add a touch of North American folk and reggae, and you have the locura sound.
Singer Kathy Miletich was born and raised in Spain, which has greatly influenced her music. Singing in both English and Spanish, the message is made clear by her soulful singing. Rachael Bouch-Dimondstein has been teaching and performing as a percussionist for the past seven years. She plays congas, timbales, djembe, drum set and cajón, and is well-versed in many musical styles. Bob Sanders began playing jazz on bass guitar, and then moved on to play World Beat, ranging from different Latin styles, Reggae and West African. Tonight we are especially pleased to present a flamenco dancer, who will accompany ¡Lo Cura! This is a summer concert you definitely won’t want to miss!
