Cloverdale, CA On August 17, at the Friday Night Live performance, the Cloverdale Arts Alliance is pleased to bring you Orient Express, who will play soul-stirring music from the Eastern European countries. This band will take you on a romantic, guided tour of the music of the Gypsies’ (Roma) origin in India a thousand years ago, through many generations of nomadic Eastern European people. The original music of India intermingled and cross-fertilized with all the music of the lands through which they traveled. The result is an extraordinarily exotic sound that will mesmerize and transport you to other lands.

Members of Orient Express include noted ethnic music specialist and multi-instrumentalist, Sheldon Brown, along with Santa Rosa Symphony virtuoso musicians, Doug Morton, principal trumpet player, Randy Keith, principal bassist and Allen Biggs, principal percussionist. Together, they deftly play the fascinating music of the Balkans, Greece, Turkey and Israel, with side trips to South America.
