The CAA is committed to continuing our program of bringing independent cinema to our community through our Real Flicks program with the intent of entertaining and communicating with a broad based viewing public. We believe informed viewers become active, rather than passive, viewers and in this process gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the cinema.
Our 2007 Festival expands this effort. It focuses on the 1967 Summer of Love with the showing of a few vintage films of the late 1960’s and discussions on the contributions of that era to filmmaking. We are hopeful that the community will join us in reminiscing and celebrating this period, 40 years ago, that was a defining moment in many of our lives and to the filmmaking world.
We intend to use the 2007 Festival to develop and present expanded programs in future years that will fulfill the public’s stated interests and will further contribute to the cultural and economic development of Cloverdale.
