Our Opening Night Reception gets the festivities started. The $20 Reception ticket is good for admission, two beverages (wine or beer) and unlimited grazing at our “bites of the sixties” food tables. In good Hollywood tradition, we will start the party outside with a walk down the red carpet amid the glare of flashing news cameras. No hiding from those paparazzi.
Captain America: Those who hang around the entrance will be treated to the roar of a high handlebar bike or two pulling up to a reserved slot. As the riders dismount and approach the Red Carpet, we will recognize an aging Captain America and his bewildered back seater still grinning at the thrill of tagging along on the road trip of life.
Throughout the evening, we will be able to check out the real Captain as he and his buddies ride across America in silence high up above the floor of the Veteran’s Hall. We can eat, drink, chat with friends, admire each others vintage attire and see America as it was in the 60’s.
An unnamed band of sharp eyed judges will be roaming the ballroom to select the best dressed folks of the evening. Winners will be announced at halftime, or whatever the MC of the evening wants to call it. Grand prizes for daring guys and gals.
Here’s a chance to have some fun peeking back at each other’s youth. Play the game by submitting your “pics from the past” to post on our photo display board. The reveler who guesses the most “Who’s Who?” will win a special prize when true identities are unveiled. One pic is worth a thousand laughs.
