THE Jazz Club
The 2018/2019 Season Will Open On October 4 With Ratatet
Cloverdale Arts Alliance presents THE Jazz Club first Thursdays, October to May
On Thursday, October 4, the Cloverdale Arts Alliance will open the new season at THE Jazz Club with the genre-dissolving sounds of Ratatet.
Ratatet is an electro-acoustic sextet from the San Francisco Bay Area, which features a front line of bassoon, trombone and vibraphone. The band’s leader is drummer, composer Alan Hall. The group’s all original music is a mash-up of jazz, American Pop, Impressionism, Blues and various South American styles and rhythms.
Aside from being active performers, the members are professors, producers, composers and teachers – three being professors at California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. Featuring Alan Hall on drums, Paul Hanson on bassoon and tenor saxophone, John Gove on trombone, Dillon Vado on vibraphone, Greg Sankovich on keyboards and Jeff Denson on acoustic and electric bass and vocals, the band blends sterling musicianship with unbounded creativity, taking full advantage of the inclusive freedom that characterizes the best of new millennium jazz. Their debut album, Artic, was released in 2016.
THE Jazz Club is presented at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance Gallery, which is located at 204 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Tickets are $15 for Cloverdale Arts Alliance members and $20 for non-members. Doors open at 7:00 pm; music begins at 7:30 pm. THE Jazz Club takes place the first Thursday of each month from October through May. The wine sponsor for THE Jazz Club is Rodney Strong Vineyards.
