THE Jazz Club
Two jazz powerhouses to join forces at THE Jazz Club April 5
Cloverdale Arts Alliance presents THE Jazz Club first Thursdays, October to May
On Thursday, April 5, the Cloverdale Arts Alliance will present two Bay Area jazz greats – Dave MacNab and two-time GRAMMY winner Mads Tolling – at THE Jazz Club.
Mads Tolling is an internationally renowned violinist and composer. As a former nine-year member of both Turtle Island Quartet and bassist Stanley Clarke’s band, Tolling has spent most his professional life touring internationally. Since 2007, Tolling has lead his own group, Mads Tolling Quartet. “The Playmaker” released in the fall of 2009, features Stanley Clarke and jazz greats Russell Ferrante and Stefon Harris. “Celebrating Jean-Luc Ponty – Live at Yoshi’s” was released in May 2012. Tollimg has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and his recordings have received rave reviews in Downbeat Magazine, Strings Magazine, Washington Post & San Francisco Chronicle. He has performed with Chick Corea, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron & Paquito D’Rivera.
Appearing with Tolling at THE Jazz Club will be Dave MacNab, who has been performing and composing music for over 25 years. Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, MacNab has been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 20 years, drawing inspiration from the abundance of creative talent and the area’s natural beauty. He has worked with many fine musicians, toured and recorded internationally, appeared on numerous TV and radio programs and has recently been performing with some of Broadway’s biggest national tours. MacNab has released four albums as a leader, played on countless other recordings and created original scores for theater and film.
Doors open at 7:00 PM and the show starts at 7:30. To receive reserved seating privileges purchase advance tickets online at www.cloverdaleartsalliance.org or at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance during normal business hours. Tickets are available at the door.
