THE Jazz Club

The 2018/2019 Season Opened October 4 With Ratatet

Cloverdale Arts Alliance presents THE Jazz Club first Thursdays, October to May

On Thursday, November 1, the Cloverdale Arts Alliance will continue THE Jazz Club season with Bay Area favorite, Paula Harris & The Beat Tramps.

Paula Harris is a multiple Blues and Music award nominee and recipient. Currently she is the “Vocalist of the Year” with the Northern California Entertainers and Music Awards (of which she is a 6-time nominee in various categories). She also won the Monterey Blues Festival’s Battle of the Bands and came in third in the WORLD at the International Blues Challenge, the largest Battle of the Bands on the planet after multiple standing ovations at all phases of the competitions.

Paula’s Acoustic Trio “The Beat Tramps” is a world-class unit comprised of musicians who have worked with Little Richard, Herbie Hancock, Lou Rawls and more. Paula mixes classic swing rhythms with the funky grooves found in smooth jazz, then she throws in a heaping dose of traditional heartfelt blues forms and themes. Very evident is Paula’s love for tongue-in-cheek provocative lyrics garnered from influences such as Dinah Washington and Helen Humes. When she elects to use it, her smoky contralto and love of melodies with difficult intervals is frequently compared to chief influences Etta James and Phyllis Hyman. She is also frequently compared to Sarah Vaughan due to her range, classical background, and impressive breath control.

THE Jazz Club is presented at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance Gallery, which is located at 204 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Tickets are $15 for Cloverdale Arts Alliance members and $20 for non-members. Doors open at 7:00 pm; music begins at 7:30 pm. THE Jazz Club takes place the first Thursday of each month from October through May. The wine sponsor for THE Jazz Club is Rodney Strong Vineyards.

To receive reserved seating privileges purchase advance tickets online at or at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance during normal business hours. Tickets are available at the door.
